Oscar is a 3.5yrs old, mellow and laid-back gentleman. He is 50lbs, petite and chubby, perfect medium size dog. Walks well on leash, takes treats from your hand politely, enjoys car rides, meets other dogs calmly and well-mannered, respect cats’ boundaries, this guy has the full package! Mostly housebroken, he only had accidents when adjusting to new environments, once settled in, he is fully housebroken. He has really low exercise requirements, happy to run around and go for weekend adventures but is fine to just snore on the couch all day long. He easily makes friends with other dogs, big/small, hyper/timid, literally every dog. He can be a little anxious when being left alone for too long, but other dogs' companion gives him more security and confidence (when foster mom is not at home, he can be left loose without any issue for 6-7hours with the companion of his foster sister). It would be ideal if his furever home has someone who is home a lot or has another dog, so he can settle in quickly and smoothly. But given how good-nature and low-key he is, we believe he could eventually fit in any household as long as you can be patient with him at the beginning.
Some fun facts about Oscar: He has been the best doggie pajamas model that he fits perfectly on all different kinds of pajamas! He does frog legs! He loves belly rubs and will wave his paws to ask for more. Beyond that, we recently found out that he is a smiler! He will greet you with his BIGGEST SMILE! Make sure you check out his second video! @https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6jPSDcGX4Q It is super cute!
We believe he grew up as a beloved pet, just being homeless and staying in crowded shelter for too long makes him a bit timid and conservative when meeting new people, but he melts really quick! Once warm up, he is very affectionate, loves to cuddle and give kisses, and is quite playful with his canine friends. If you can be patient with him, give him some time to trust you, he will return you with all his love and a great family pet! This sweet boy really has been through a lot, but he is still keeping his paws crossed and waiting patiently, will you be willing to give him a chance?
