I've found my furever family!

Hi! My Name Is Hazel

We're happy to tell you that Hazel has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Hazel is a 6 month old, 24 lb Australian Shepherd mix (possibly with chocolate lab?) who was found as a stray in rural Kentucky. Her foster mom thinks Hazel is just about the most perfect puppy ever! She is sweet, friendly, gentle, affectionate, quiet and calm. Hazel adores children of all ages, and tested well with other dogs when she was brought to the KY shelter. However, she's not a fan of cats (it's the herding breed in her).

Hazel is crate trained and sleeps all night in her crate with no complaints. She is almost fully housebroken, and with routine and consistency will get there very quickly. She is very smart and food motivated, which means she is super easy to train. She already sits very well, is attentive to her foster mom, and is eager to please. She walks very nicely on a leash. She doesn't have the stamina yet for long walks, but enjoys short, slow walks.

Hazel would do well in any cat-free home that is eager to shower her with love and affection. Since she's just a puppy, any adopter should be willing to continue her basic obedience training and socialization to make sure that as she gets older she remains the social and behaved pup she is today.
