I've found my furever family!

Hi! My Name Is Doug

We're happy to tell you that Doug has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Meet Doug, a two-year-old handsome boy with a stunning tri-color coat that's as unique as his personality. Doug's journey hasn't been easy – he was found as a stray, super-skinny due to starvation. It's heart-wrenching to feel his ribs, a reminder of his past struggles. He already gained 5lbs during his two-week stay in shelter and foster family is working on feeding him up 5-10 more pounds with good nutrition. He is a good eater, it shouldn’t be long before he can go back to his normal weight ~45-50lbs, perfect medium-sized dog!

Despite his tough start, Doug is a true sweetheart. He's easy-going, well-mannered, chill, that makes him a natural fit for any home! He adores resting his head on you for cuddles and stays close to his favorite humans.  He is housebroken, dog-friendly, enjoys car-rides and walks perfectly on leash! While he's content sleeping in a crate at night, he'd much rather cozy up with you. He is happy and ready to go on long-hikes whenever you want! While staying inside, he is very chill and is all about finding a cozy place to take a nap. He is a quick learner that mastered lots of commands within one week, like sit, paw, lie down, High-Five, spin, crate, stay, speak and step on target! (Check out his trick show: https://youtu.be/zd2Bcx5qr_k) His motivation? Delicious treats, of course! Training this eager learner is an absolute joy. The most adorable thing is to see him quickly offering all the tricks he knows in a sequence when you have treats in hand.

We can't say enough good things about Doug – he's a true gem in every sense. What’s missing is just a forever family to call his own! If you're ready to open your heart and home to a loyal companion who's been through it all and come out shining, Doug is the one.

Doug is currently being fostered in Plainsboro, NJ.
