Update: we are no longer accepting applications for Bear!

Bear is in the house! This little gentleman came to us on a transport from KY and he’s already stealing hearts. He is a 5 month old, perfect 30lb package, Australian Shepherd and probably chocolate lab mix. We're guessing he'll get a little bit bigger given the size of his paws, but without knowing his parents we can't really estimate a size. He is sweet, cuddly, calm, adorable, quiet, walks beautifully on leash and is fully housebroken! He is also a Velcro dog and wants to be wherever his people are, but we have observed no issues with separation anxiety. He is awesome with the teens in the household and their friends, and we don’t see why he wouldn’t be just as lovely with younger kids, but hasn't yet been tested. He is great with other dogs, and was also non-reactive when he saw a cat, but we'd have to formally test for cats. Bear is moderate energy, enjoys walks/hikes and visits to the dog park, but isn't so energetic that he requires a fenced in yard. He has settled in quite nicely to condo life and would thrive in just about any environment. He gets bouncy and playful when outside, but settles right down inside. He like tossing around stuffed toys and is learning how to chase and retrieve balls. He arrived not knowing how to navigate stairs, but picked it up within a day. He has that adorable puppy awkwardness in his movements. He does prefer to snooze on couches and beds, so may prefer a home where he will be allowed on furniture. He has shown no signs of inappropriate chewing and he never seems to bark. He even knows basic commands and responds to his name. Honestly, we're struggling to find anything other than all positives to say about him. As with any puppy, he needs playtime and would enjoy group puppy training classes. He is food motivated, which means he'll be a breeze to train. Any family would be lucky to adopt this sweet angel.
