I've found my furever family!

Meet Kiya—a Great Dane/Black Lab mix that is a BIG lovable and loyal pup, ready to be your very best friend and playmate! Throw her a football or a frisbee and she will be your best friend forever. She tears off after it and will even bring it back to you to have you throw it again.  

Kiya loves people and will slowly try to crawl her way into your lap…nothing like an 80-lb. lap dog to keep you company! Not only is Kiya a lap dog, but she is also a liberal hug-giver as well. If you’re sitting down, she will take her front legs and curl them around your arm like she’s giving you a hug. She also loves to give kisses so be prepared for those!  .

Kiya is great in the crate and also 100% housebroken. She also knows some basic obedience skills and will continue to excel at training as she is a quick learner and very eager to please. Couple that with some tasty treats as a reward and she will be a star pupil of the class!  

Kiya is desperately looking for a loving family of her own as her previous owner’s dumped her at a rural shelter, where she sat for 4 months prior to being rescued. She was so stressed and depressed she didn’t eat, making her very much underweight. Her foster home is making sure she has plenty to eat and now that she is in a home, she is MUCH happier and eager to eat.  

Kiya has shown some instances of possession with “her” toys and people when the resident dogs approach. The foster home is working with her on this behavior but her adopter will need to be aware of this behavior and will need to continue to work with her.

This big mush of a dog is searching for her forever home that will appreciate her sweet personality and never abandon her again.
