Welcome to the Rogers' Rescues family! Please read this contract carefully, as it is a legally binding document. Initial all paragraphs and complete the last page. All fields are mandatory. If you cannot fill out a section or disagree with the contents of any portion, please discuss with the volunteer you've been working with.

Terms & Conditions*
- I agree to interpret all statements about the dog as volunteer opinions; no description of breed, health, behavior, age, or other factors is considered binding. I understand that rescue dogs come with "baggage," and I am willing to accept this baggage and help the dog work through it.
- I understand that the adoption fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
- I understand that all veterinary care from the time of adoption is my own responsibility, and Rogers' Rescues will not be financially liable for any veterinary concerns from this time forward. (Unless explicit exception is noted in Foster Notes attachment emailed to adopter.)
- I understand that the foster parent will make recommendations that are likely to help the dog adjust to its new home (e.g., crating the dog, attending a training class). I agree to do my best to comply with these recommendations.
- I will keep a collar and identification tag on the dog at all times and will license the dog with the county/city. I will obey all state and municipal regulations governing licensing, ownership, custody, control, and care of dogs. I will leash the dog at all times unless inside of a building or well-constructed, secure fence. If I live in PA, I will immediately license my dog using the form available at https://www.pa.gov/en/services/pda/apply-for-a-dog-license.html.
- I acknowledge the support, advice, and referral resources available by emailing [email protected]. We strongly encourage you to contact us any time you are having difficulty. Rogers' Rescues volunteers are here to support all adopters, for the lifetime of the dog, and will make every effort to ensure that we provide the necessary support.
- This dog is being adopted as a companion and will live as a family member with me inside my home. I will not allow the dog to be used for purposes of vivisection or experimentation. I will provide proper and sufficient food, water, shelter, and kind treatment for the dog at all times. I further agree the dog will not be chained at any time as a means of restraint or be a primarily outside dog. I will take actions to prevent, and accept liability for, any behavioral or physical damage to dog.
- I agree to return the dog only to Rogers Rescues. A transfer or surrender of dog to a non-Rogers' Rescues representative is a breach of contract. If I can no longer keep the dog, I will email [email protected]. I understand that I may need to wait until a foster home is available before I can surrender, except in emergencies. I will transport the dog back to the receiving foster home. I understand that I may not transfer the dog to a different owner.
- I agree to immediately notify Rogers' Rescues if the dog is lost or stolen. In the event the dog is lost, I will make every reasonable effort to attempt to locate and claim the dog, and immediately retrieve the dog from any pound or animal shelter and to pay any costs associated with its recovery.
- I will hold harmless and indemnify Rogers' Rescues and its agents or representatives for injuries or death to other animals or people from Dog's actions or behaviors. Further, I hold harmless and indemnify Rogers' Rescues for any and all property damage that Dog may cause.
- I agree to grant Rogers' Rescues representatives permission to enter my premises to ensure that the conditions of this contract are being upheld. I agree that if I cannot uphold the conditions of this contract I will return the dog to Rogers' Rescues.
- I agree to pay all costs, including professional legal fees, if Rogers' Rescues must take action against me or associated persons to execute any conditions of this contract.
- Under no circumstances will I make any attempt to threaten, harass, intimidate, or otherwise abuse any representative of Rogers' Rescues or their family members.
- If Dog is not already microchipped, I agree to do so at the first vet appointment.
- If Dog is not already spayed/neutered, I agree to have him/her spayed/neutered by 6 months of age at my own expense. I have paid a deposit, which will be returned by Rogers' Rescues once I have the dog altered. I will email proof of spay/neuter to [email protected].
- I understand that this contract will take effect at the time the dog is physically given to the adopter, even if the contract is signed before this time.
