I've found my furever family!

Are you looking for a southern gentleman to complete your life? Do you enjoy men with good looks AND a stellar personality to match? Well then, you are looking in the right place because Deuce is on the market! 

Deuce is an approximately 1.5 year old male Australian Shepherd/ Husky mix that was surrendered to an animal shelter in Kentucky by his owner. His owner moved from a house with a yard to a small apartment, and felt that it wasn’t fair to Deuce to keep him. Deuce was surrendered with a German Shepherd sister that he absolutely adored, and unfortunately had to be separated from her at the shelter. Deuce lost everything he knew and loved all in a short time, and as a result became depressed.

Luckily, the wonderful staff at the shelter noticed that Deuce LOVED other dogs. He was placed out in the yard with other dog friends and immediately began to perk up. Shortly after, Deuce was fortunate enough to land a spot on a transport up north, and was taken into a loving foster home in New Jersey to continue his journey to find a forever family. 

While in foster, Deuce has been an amazing house guest. He is housetrained, crate trained, and knows basic commands! He even has a new German Shepherd best buddy to romp around with! Deuce is super low maintenance in the house, and will sleep by his person’s side with no issue. He occasionally has the zoomies, but quickly settles down again. After just a short time, he is already in love with his foster parents and follows them wherever they go! 

Summer is not the preferred season for this floofy guy, as he gets overheated easily. Deuce would like to make sure that his new home has air conditioning! He will often be seen laying on the tile floor to cool off after his version of “exercise” (for example walking up or down the stairs or literally just walking). Deuce has become an avid cuddler since he has been in foster, and can often be seen laying upside down on his foster mom’s lap with a derpy smile on his face. 

Deuce’s superpower: SLEEPING! Deuce can nap anywhere, anytime. He prefers the comforts of a couch or bed, but can just as easily sleep on a carpet, hardwood floor, or even outside in the dirt. This man is a champion snoozer.  If you are wondering what Deuce is doing right at this very moment…he’s sleeping. Although this versatile man settles easily, he also would do well going on walks or adventures with his new owner! 

Overall, Deuce is looking for a forever home that can provide him with love and stability. He is an awesome all around dog, and deserves a family that won’t give him up no matter what. Deuce could do well with children, other dogs, and even cats in the house, or could easily adjust to being your one and only!
