Juno had a litter of 9 puppies in foster care in November. They've all been adopted out, and now she's ready for a forever family of her own! Juno is just a puppy herself, at about a year old. She's mostly German Shepherd, with a little golden retriever and beagle, according to the DNA test. She's only about 45 lbs--the perfect size for snuggling next to you on the couch, which she loves to do! But not for too long, because playing is also tons of fun. . . .
Juno is incredibly smart and has picked up lots of things in a short amount of time. She'll happily go into her crate to eat or take a nap, but we're still working on closing the door while she's in there. She's learned sit, down, wait, go to the crate, come when called, and paw. . .
It takes Juno a minute to warm up to new dogs, but once she does, she loves to play. She's only 45 lbs and not incredibly strong--but we do think that her enthusiasm could be a problem for a senior dog or a dog that's a lot smaller than she is, so we're recommending that she not live with a dog under about 25 lbs--but it will depend on how active and "sturdy" the other dog is. She'd love a securely fenced yard, as she loves spending time outside just watching the day go by. If you don't have one, though, she'd be ok with leash walks, especially if there's another dog to play with. . . .
Juno loves bones, tennis balls, walks, snuggles, playmates, food, her foster family, and "her" chair. She is most joyful when her people are all in one room and she has a fun toy to toss in the air for herself. She's a bit of a clown!
Juno will need a home that will continue using force-free training methods to help her continue gaining confidence and capitalize on her intelligence, loyalty, and desire to please as she finishes out her adolescence and becomes a joyful, loyal, snuggly member of the family.
